Eight Southern Idaho professionals have come together to form an inter-modal commerce authority in Jerome County.
The group is organized under the authority of Idaho Code title 70, chapter 22, which grants any city or county the right to establish such an organization upon having gained the approval of that city’s council or county’s commissioners. The Jerome County Commerce Authority (JCCA) gained approval from the Jerome county commissioners in an April 2012 public hearing and are already pushing forward with a variety of renewable energy projects they intend to support throughout the state in cooperation and collaboration with city, county, and state entities.
Chairing the inter-modal authority will be Roy Prescott, who has been a long-time rancher and businessman in Southern Idaho. Prescott has held many public offices, including a former position as a county commissioner in Jerome. Also on the JCCA are: Ross Hyatt, Dale Ross, Jeremy Pittard, Mitch Arkoosh, and Jeff Schroeder.
